Dandeli is situated in the Western Ghats in the state of Karnataka and is known for its beautiful landscapes marked with dense forests, mountains, streams, and rivers. The Kali river flows through this region and is a great place for river rafting and kayaking. There are many other such adventure activities like river crossing that can be done here. For people who like a relaxed holiday amidst nature, there are provisions of jungle camping or staying in tents here. The Dandeli Anshi Tiger Reserve is the second largest wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka and home to a number of animals. Wildlife safari in Dandeli can be a really thrilling experience as well.
We will reach Dandeli in the morning at about 6 am. We will then check into our campsite.
After breakfast, we freshen up and start our hike to the Syntheri Rocks. The trek to Syntheri rocks is picturesque passing by the banks of the river Kalindi and waterfalls.
Next, you will be heading for the most popular adventure activity here which is the white river rafting on the Kali river.
The rafting stretch is around 12 kilometers in length and has various types of rapids of various categories that can suit the abilities of experienced rafters and the beginners.
Gliding through rocky terrains and whirlpools of the Kali river, this rafting experience takes around 4 hours in total to get completed.
Mountain biking races, river crossing, and kayaking in Dandeli are some of the other activities that can be done here.
You can even go for a normal boat ride across the river. While returning to the campsite, witness the sunset at the backwaters.
Dinner will be served at the campsite. A bonfire will be arranged by the campsite as well. You will be staying in tents for the night.
You will wake up early and start your day with some good breakfast.
You will then head to Yellapur from where you would be heading to Sathodi Waterfall.
Sathodi Waterfall is around 25 kilometers away from Yellapur and is around 15 meters long.
The waters from this waterfall then form a stream and flow into a nearby dam which is connected with the Kali river.
You will have your lunch here and then board your bus in the evening for Bangalore.
